What is NDIS Respite?

Short Term Respite is a funded support that allows participants continuity of accommodation for a short period of time, with support tailored to their needs. Respite can be used for weekends, overnight stays or short breaks, depending on your funding and goals.

At What Ability, Respite focuses on personal growth, confidence and having fun in a way that feels safe and familiar. Our NDIS respite services are designed to provide flexible, personalised support that helps participants make the most of their short-term stays.

What is included in NDIS Respite:

Benefits of NDIS Respite

Respite offers participants the opportunity to build confidence while enjoying time away from home. It is structured, supported and designed to feel rewarding, not overwhelming.

We also have an open-door policy where families are welcome to visit before and during their stay.

Through our NDIS Respite services, participants can experience:

  • Increased independence in a new environment
  • Confidence staying away from home
  • Social connection and shared experiences
  • Consistent routines with trusted support workers, sometimes in preparation of Supported Independent Living services
